Second: Most component karaoke machines read DVDs so don’t just buy a karaoke machine, you basically have two in one- a karaoke system and a DVD player. Isn’t that great? This way you don’t have to trouble trying to set your priorities, you can have them both without spending too much.

Now, they may sound like they require a lot of work but it’s actually not like that at all. Component karaoke systems are really easy to use and install- you just need to connect a few cables and that’s it. If you are a beginner or you don’t plan to use your  karaoke system more than once in a while, a standard low price system will do just fine. However, those who love to practice karaoke singing should look for a better and a slightly more expensive model. There are also high end models for professionals but their prices go from 350$ and up.

Professional karaoke machines- Professional karaoke machines are intended to be used in bars or clubs and are therefore more powerful and, off course, more expensive. Professional machines have better sound features like mixer, equalizer etc.

Home karaoke sets- These  machines offer maximum entertainment with minimal installation problems and all that for a really affordable price. These machines come with microphones and are usually plugged into a regular television set. If you and your friends just love to get together for a sing-off then you will be very happy to know that these sets can be bought with additional microphones. You can choose between two, three or even five microphones and make sure none nobody is neglected.

Other types- Off course, you don’t have to get an actual karaoke singing machine because a lot of similar programs can be bought or downloaded off the internet. These programs will enable you to turn your PC or gaming console into a karaoke machine. These programs are available even for mobile phones and portable music players, so you can enjoy your karaoke routine anywhere and anytime.

Most karaoke systems are “plug and play” which means you can use them as soon as they are connected to the necessary outputs. Some of them contain all needed components so all you need to do is plug them into the electricity output. Others have their own speakers and audio controls but need to be connected with a TV. The most difficult are component karaoke players because you will have to connect them with both audio and video outputs. That, off course, doesn’t mean you will spend hours trying to set it up or you will have to call a professional to do that for you. The truth is that you don’t have to be an engineer to connect your karaoke system, just follow some simple guidelines and you can have it up and running in no time.

1. Connect the karaoke player to the video output. You will do this by running a cable from the karaoke unit to your TV. In order to see the lyrics on the screen you will need a RF converter so you need two cables- one should run from the converter to the TV and the other one from the converter to the karaoke player.

2. For good audio quality, you karaoke player needs a quality set of speakers, a mixer and an amplifier. Connect the karaoke player to the mixer using appropriate cables, a mixer with an amplifier and an amplifier with the speakers. The mixer and an amplifier don’t need to be very expensive because their main purpose will be to enable better control and speaker performance.

3. Connect the microphones, make sure the TV is set to a proper channel and everything is connected correctly. Now your karaoke system is ready so you can turn it on and start singing.
